The town's sandy beach stretches for miles along a shallow shoreline, backed by a Victorian promenade of cafes, amusements and independent shops on Sea View Street - one of the oldest shopping streets in the area which is less than 5 minutes walk away. The iconic Pier, first opened in 1873 while Ross Castle, a 19th-century folly in the Pier Gardens, offers panoramic views over the estuary. The Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway - one of Britain's oldest miniature railways, running since 1948 on 15-inch narrow gauge track - runs along the seafront and is a favourite with families. The Discovery Centre and boating lake (with its pedal boats and Lakeside Café) sit within easy walking distance of the beach. For nature lovers, the Humberston Fitties dunes are just to the south, while the 153-acre Cleethorpes Country Park lies inland off Kings Road. The town hosts a well-regarded annual Armed Forces Weekend and is 30 minutes from the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Both properties are located on the same quiet residential street in central Cleethorpes, less than a five-minute walk from the seafront, the Victorian independent shops, coffee shops, restaurants and bars of Sea View Street and the promenade. The train station is a 10-minute walk and a bus stop is two minutes away - making it one of the most walkable holiday lets in the town.  Donna Nook seal colony - one of Lincolnshire's most visited wildlife sites - is a 30-minute drive.

Area Guide

Cleethorpes Beach (on your doorstep)

The main beach runs for several miles alongside the Victorian promenade, with a gentle slope into shallow water that makes it one of the most family-friendly tidal beaches on the east coast. At low tide the sandflats extend far out, revealing the stumps of a 4,000-year-old submerged forest - a detail you won't find on many British beaches. Best for: Families with young children, dogs (restrictions apply in summer near the pier), first-time visitors. Both Jalebo and Dorothy Rose are less than five minutes' walk from the main beach

Humberston Fitties Beach (2 miles south, 10 min drive or 25 min walk)

Just south of the main promenade, the Fitties is a conservation area of sand dunes and around 300 traditional timber chalets on former saltmarsh - "fitties" being the local word for saltmarsh. The beach here is quieter, with direct access to open sands and is popular with paddleboarders, dog walkers and birdwatchers. There are no amusements, no arcades - just dunes, sea air, and space. Best for: Dog walking, quiet walks, paddleboarding, nature.

Tetney Marshes / Donna Nook (15–20 miles south, 25–30 min drive)

Managed by the RSPB, Tetney Marshes form part of a 2,150-acre site of mudflats, saltmarsh, and saline lagoons that together form one of Britain's top five estuaries for bird life — over 175,000 birds use this section of the Humber floodplain. A few miles further south, Donna Nook is nationally known for its Atlantic grey seal colony, which arrives on the beach each November and December to give birth. At peak season up to 2,000 seals can be present. It's one of the most accessible seal-watching sites in the UK, with a boardwalk that brings you within metres of the animals.  Best for: Wildlife watching, photography, autumn and winter visits.
